The Tsunami Society was organized in 1982 by Dr. W. M. Adams, Dr. A. S. Furumoto and Dr. G. Pararas-Carayannis in Honolulu, Hawaii as an international society to increase and disseminate knowledge about tsunamis and their hazards.
The Tsunami Society publishes THE SCIENCE OF TSUNAMI HAZARDS journal and published its 24th volume in 2006. All issues of the journal are available at http://epubs.lanl.gov/tsunami/ and recent issues are available at http://www.sthjournal.org.
The Tsunami Society conducts a Tsunami Symposium every three years at the East-West Center on the University of Hawaii campus. The next Symposium will be May 26-28, 2009.
